Clare was born in the English countryside where she lived until the age of 5 when her family moved to Australia. For many of the next 10 years, Clare travelled all over the world with her parents, who believed that the best way to appreciate what you have and get a wide-ranging education was to travel, meet people and experience as much as possible. When in Sydney, Clare spent her time either at the beach or with animals, particularly horses, and she competed successfully in dressage and western riding. Graduating from high school in Sydney, Clare studied interior design, worked in advertising and helped run a small catering business with her mum, which is where her passion for cooking developed.
A lifelong love of acting took her to England and New York during the early 1990s so that she could further the acting study she had begun as a child, with the bonus of reconnecting with her extended family.
In the mid 1990’s she returned to Australia, married an Aussie and together they set up a building company that specialises in domestic renovations. It is now a multi award winning business that has been in operation for over 20 years. Her experience includes working onsite where she developed many hands-on skills, project management, as well as being able to use her interior design training. She says “Working in the building industry taught me about hard work, both physical and mental, about running your own business, surviving the down times and never giving up”.
In 2016 Clare also began studying Bio-resonance Therapy with a focus on its uses for natural, non-invasive animal treatment. She credits working with animals for teaching her about unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion.
Clare nurtures her creative side with her love of writing and nourishes her soul with cooking as she believes that being able to cook well is not only important to good health but a skill that can be shared with everyone and bring people together. She loves clothes but refuses to be a slave to fashion, loves design but rarely follows the trends and believes a small act of kindness can change someone’s world.
Clare has continued to work successfully as an actor and presenter since the 1990’s and has trained with many acclaimed acting teachers from around the world. She’s appeared in numerous tv commercials, tv series, films and web series. She has portrayed a myriad of characters from serial killers to lawyers, strippers to the girl next door, the other woman to the wronged wife and from super bitch to super mum to name just a few. Additionally, for the past 4 years she has been working in live television as a guest presenter for TVSN (Australia & New Zealand). Since turning 50 she is also sought-after as a mature model and brand ambassador.
